Volunteer with Superior this Saturday, December 10, to help the L.A. community!

This Saturday, December 10, representatives from Superior’s Burbank-based office will be volunteering at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.  Our team will assist in assembling food packages for over 23,000 low income seniors, women with infants, and children in Los Angeles County.  The food packages consist of food items such as canned fruit, canned vegetables, rice, cereal and other non-perishable food items.

Saturday, December 10 – Registration is from 8:30 am to 8:50 am – volunteer project starts at 9:00 am and goes until 12:00 pm.  Please bring in your release form on the day of your service project.

Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is located at 1734 E. 41st Street, Los Angeles, CA 90058 – Minimum age requirement is 14 (sorry, no exceptions). All volunteers must wear closed toe shoes.

Superior Gets Social in Phoenix, AZ with Career Connectors!

Laurie Keffler, a Senior Technical Recruiter from Superior’s Phoenix-based office, will be a featured guest at the Career Connectors workshop Get Social: Social Media in Your Career Search on Wednesday, October 19^th.  The event is part of an ongoing series presented by Career Connectors, whose mission is to bring together public and private businesses, along with philanthropic, non-profit communities, government entities and faith-based organizations to connect Real People with Real Careers.  

Everyone is encouraged to stop by this FREE event to learn how to use social media to maximize your career search and hear about job opportunities in the Phoenix area.

Superior’s Burbank Office Attends Burbank Centennial

Superior Technical Resources, Inc. recently served as a Milestone Sponsor for the Burbank Centennial to commemorate the 100th anniversary of its incorporation as a city. The City’s year-long celebration includes events and activities that create civic pride and highlight community partnership.

Members of Superior’s Burbank office celebrated by attending the “Party of the Century” on July 8th that included an air parade, fireworks, and live music.

Superior Looks to Make an Impact at the Ride for Roswell

Members of the Superior Group’s corporate office in Buffalo, NY participated in the Ride for Roswell on June 26, 2010 at the University at Buffalo.  The Ride for Roswell is an annual outpouring of community support for America’s first cancer center, the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, and its core mission to understand, prevent, and cure cancer. 

The “Superior Impact” team raised over $15,550, the 7th highest total of all participating teams.  Superior Impact’s nearly 40 riders conquered routes ranging from 3 miles to 62.5 miles, and another 23 Superior team members volunteered their time manning booths, serving up snow cones, passing out water, handing out carnations to cancer survivors, and cheering on the riders.  In all, the event raised more than $2.6 million and included over 7,000 riders and 1,500 volunteers. 

“Superior is proud to support one of our community’s most longstanding and worthwhile causes,” said Tony Dvorak, Superior’s Manager of Communications.  “We will continue to support Roswell in the fight against cancer.”

Superior Participates in the Phoenix Stride & Ride Event

Superior’s Phoenix office staff proudly participated in the 2010 MDA Stride & Ride on March 27, 2010.  The goal of this program was to help make a difference for kids and adults affected by neuromuscular diseases.

 

The MDA—a non-profit health agency dedicated to curing muscular dystrophy, ALS, and related diseases by funding worldwide research—holds Stride & Ride events in communities across the country.  Participants are encouraged to create teams and collect donations to benefit MDA services and research.  Proceeds from Stride & Ride fund medical examinations, flu shots, support groups, summer camps for youth, and assistance with the purchase of wheelchairs and leg braces.

 

“The Stride & Ride event was a great opportunity for us to give back to our community as a team,” said Brian Christel, Vice President of Superior’s Western Region.  “We’re proud to support such a worthy cause.”
